Another top Spring session to savour at The Gallery this Friday night folks as Turnmills’ world famous weekly club brings you 4 rooms of musical hedonism on Friday 20th April. Kicking off in the main room, where the heavyweight hitters of Judge Jules and Seb Fontaine are in town to show the news kids on the block how it should be done!! Judge Jules is of course old skool through and through. The Radio 1 rocker has been around for as long as The Gallery can remember and he still remains one of the most important figures in dance music. Heck, some might go as far to say he’s one of the hardest working men in the industry – with over 300 gigs per year under his belt!! Former Radio 1 pal, Seb Fontaine meanwhile has been enjoying the freedom of having his weekends back to himself again after his own ‘residency’ on the airwaves for all those years. His monthly London night Type is still doing great things at The Cross, but it’s The Gallery which is the only other place he’ll play in the capital. Bless. Look out for underground bombs of the musical variety from Seb on Friday. There’s still space for The Gallery’s hot new resident Sander Van Doorn to turn in his 3rd weekly set in a row. The hotly-tipped Dutchman has set up base at The Gallery throughout April, leading up to next week’s Residents Special and it’s suited us fine as the demand to see him these days is so high that we need 4 dates just to cope with the demand! Fellow Gallery resident – and the voice behind The Gallery’s weekly Radio Show (on MOS Radio) Gavyn Mytchel joins Sander and the boys for more late night hands-in-the-air moments, with newcomer James Hughes setting the early pace.
Hot footing it to T3 now, where we’re absolutely thrilled to welcome breaks pioneers Hybrid back to the club to play an exclusive live performance. The Welsh stars have become part of the furniture in recent times and when they played live a few years back, the duo walked off stage with thunderous cheers raining down on them. Having produced some timeless tracks including classic cut ‘Finished Symphony’, Hybrid have also remixed over 40 artists including Radiohead, Carl Cox, BT, The Future Sound Of London and Moby to name a few. Look out for exclusive airings of new material on the night too. Oh I say. If that news might cause a bit of wee to come out, then perhaps the following announcement might. Joining the Hybrid dudes from behind the decks will be US powerhouse Steve Porter, who jets in for another exclusive UK date at Gallery HQ on the back of his global tour promoting his new mix album – ‘Porterhouse Vol 2’. Steve is one of America’s most exciting new DJ/Producers on the electronic scene and has made a huge impact here in the UK on the back of his debut at The Gallery. Laying the early tempo with rising stars Tweak&Bleep.
Meanwhile over in the lovable rouge that is T2, backroom regulars City Beats return to the groove as they present another underground night of future electro and minimal-tech. Man about town Shane Watcha headlines, backed up by Jack Digital records head honchos Audio Jackers, plus sets from Claude Lyons & Tom Charles, Russell Caten and Formless. Finally (yes there is more!), Room 4 welcomes the Ideal DJs roster to town featuring more household names – from former Circo Loco resident Jo Mills, to Café Mambo’s Pete Gooding and London-party-starter Filthy Rich. So then, it’s just another regular night down at the ‘Mills then huh?!?
