Kicking off the season, Rally & Broad partner with the Mental Health Foundation in Edinburgh to showcase a special event for the Scottish Mental Health Arts & Film Festival.
LOKI with Becci Wallace! Loki has been described as "A powerful grassroots political orator of resonant lyrical ability" with recent album G.I.M.P - Government Issue Music Protest - (which features collaboration with Becci Wallace) - "a strongly expressed work rich in soulful, old school beats" (The Scotsman,). Expect a brutally honest, vivid, searing and powerful performance from one of Scotland’s most prominent and politically aware MCs.
Delighted Peoples)! Edinburgh-based four-piece Delighted Peoples mix a wide range of influences to produce a beautiful and claustrophobic, dystopian vision. Their finely honed sound recalls vintage Massive Attack, and despite only recently forming, with only a handful of performances under their belts, they are rapidly gathering a dedicated fan base.
Harry Giles! Harry Giles is a truly innovative writer, performer, poet and theatre-maker. He is the author of Visa Weddings and Oam (both from Stewed Rhubarb Press) and he was also shortlisted for the inaugural Edwin Morgan Award in 2014. Giles’s work is inherently political, and he states "To me, feelings are not a soft form of politics: they are hard, edgy, scary and potent. I am trying to use disruptive action, satire and discussion to drive a wedge into political moments, opening a space for audiences to think, feel and act." A must-see act.
Chrissy Barnacle! Singer-songwriter and storyteller Chrissy Barnacle has rapidly gained notice for her at times off-the-wall, at times searingly heartbreaking, stories, songs and performances. Brimming with turmoil and optimism - and a definite Rally & Broad favourite!
Ed Ritchie! Mainly performing under the pseudonym Dog On A Swing, Ed Ritchie is a musician and songwriter based in Edinburgh.
