Nukleuz @ Enzo's - Review

Reported by Robert Muir / Submitted 23-10-02 15:53

Robb Muir takes a trip down to Enzos for the latest Nukleuz tour night featuring Andy Farley and VinylGroover. If you don't know it, Enzos is situated on the A345 from Salisbury to Aylesbury and it's close to Stone Henge.

Sets on the night
Tim Coe 0200 0300
Vinylgroover 1230 - 0200
Andy Farley 1100 -1230
Tim Coe 1000 -1100

Now Enzos is a club that one describes as a great find. I only discovered it in the last 6 months and it’s a find that has resulted in some of the best experiences that I’ve had this year. It's situated in the middle of the sticks, so you don’t get pissed up lager boys wondering in off the streets – the only people who go are the people who have planned to go, and are up for it. The club is situated in a hotel complex, so you can also book a room – just in case you can't face that drive home – not bad rates either.

As you walk into the reception area you can see this is a well-decorated club, with nice hanging decorations flowing from the ceiling. The one thing I like about Enzos is the regular Nukleuz nights also hosting the biggest names in hard dance DJs on a weekly basis – it’s one of only a few on the South Coast that do this regularly. Now, I was here for two reasons:

1. Andy Farley
2. Vinylgroover

Andy was playing an unusually early set (he was also doing Timeless @ 03:00-04:30, as you all well know!). I had just walked into the main club area when Andy Farley took the reins from Tim Coe, and as bloody usual you could tell as the place went mental, it was like when England had scored that equalising goal against Greece!! Andy took us on a musical frenzy, playing some quality tunes and leaving everyone looking like Cheshire cats. There seemed to be a pure buzz about the place, real friendly and everyone going full throttle. The lighting rig was great and combined with the sound system just added fuel to the fire.

Andy had finished his set at 12:30 and was switched by one of the new names from Nukleuz - Vinylgroover, who played one hell of a set – it all seemed to go hazy for a while (was slowly sinking into a large comfy sofa – lightweight !) I gave myself a wake up call and dived into the dance floor like an Olympic swimmer going for gold. Vinylgroover was playing some real good hard trance and the crowd really responded. Got to say that even though I've heard the tunes throughout the summer, Revolution and Christiaan 'Free Your Mind' were the tunes of the night for me. Thanx to Paul (Enzos Owner) for arranging everything and for the hospitality – this is a goldmine; if you’re outside London and on the South east, pays it a visit you will not regret it!
