Label: Pharmacy
Format: Digital
Genre: Psy Trance

Christopher Lawrence's Psy label Pharmacy Records releases the debut single from Seattly Psy Trance producer Magnus.

Fluid Motion (Original Mix)

As soon as this track kicked off i thought it was nicely produced, crisp in production, and hang on - yep, it's Psy Trance. Then I checked the details and it comes on Lawrences Psy-based label Pharmacy, so this can perhaps be expected. This is really nice stuff, well done and has some nice catchy hook pieces - not least in the vocal clips used. The bassline has some cool melodic pieces and flurries, and interest is retained throughout by some good structure. Check this one out, I may just give this another few plays.

8/10

Lifeforce (Original Mix)

This track also has a Psy feel and basis to it, with a deeper and fuller bassline than Fluid Motion - the percussion is sparser and the kick not quite as "psy-like". Regular bassline flurries keep the ear attached in the first minute or two, and once we get going the track is a little more melodic than the other - but the bassline bothers me a little throughout as it's just a little heavy in there smothering the other elements. A great overall package for a debut single though, absolutely no doubt about that.

7/10
